Maths Homework/Revision Year 1

Instead of sending home a worksheet this week I have decided to send a website link to you. Children can practise addition here and try to beat the number of questions they can do in 60 seconds. Click here for the website.

DT - Year 1

Our DT unit that begins after half term focuses on Buildings and structures.  This website contains activities on the theme of homes, it has games, activities and facts. Feel free to take a look at your leisure! Click here for the website.

Year 1 Spellings

Please practise the spelling of these key words (click here). We will be having a test on the first Friday of the Lent term.  Some of the spellings are tricky so we will practise them in school too.

More maths games.

Hope you are all having fun in the snow!

Here are a few more maths games you can play at home.

You can play a simple game of bingo by getting your child to write down 3 or 6 even numbers. You call out a number and your child doubles it, if they have written that number they can cross it off.

There is a game in the repository that you can download and print that has the instructions on it.

Here is another game you can play:

Take turns to throw a 1-6 dice.

_ Write down the number you get.

_ Double it and write down the answer.

_ Take five turns each.

_ The person with the biggest number wins

Here are some quick links to some online doubling games:

Dinosaur dentist as mentioned in Lorraine's post, deals with near doubles.

Take care in the snow!
